On your first visit, Dr. Rigsbee will conduct a complete dental exam and an orthodontic diagnostic workup that includes

digital facial and dental photographs
study models of the teeth
X-rays and a computerized analysis of the face with the Dolphin Imaging system

Plus, Dr. Rigsbee's concern is not just for your teeth but also your entire mouth. That's why he's made smile analysis one of the cornerstones of his practice. Dr. Rigsbee wrote his master's thesis on smile analysis, plus he teaches it to graduate dental students at the Indiana University School of Dentistry.

With smile analysis, Dr. Rigsbee takes a comprehensive approach to orthodontic care. He will carefully assess lip-tooth relationship, tooth position, jaw alignment, signs of exposed gums, and more, plus take the necessary steps to correct them.

Once your initial exam and diagnostic records are completed, a customized orthodontic treatment plan will be presented that will include a discussion of all specific orthodontic problems and a review of all treatment options indicated.

With the AOO™ procedure most orthodontic cases in both adolescents and adults can be completed 3 to 4 times faster than would be possible with conventional Orthodontics*. With the new AOO™ procedure, patients who would have declined conventional orthodontics strictly due to the length of treatment now have a viable alternative. This group of patients has tended to include adolescents who do not want to wear braces for 1 1/2 to 3 years while in high school and adults whose social or professional responsibilities would preclude their wearing braces for a long period of time. The AOO™ procedure is feasible for most patients, regardless of age, as long as their permanent teeth are present.

We would happy to provide you with more information regarding AOO™ and work with you to determine the best treatment plan.

*Most cases completed in 3 to 8 months. Some cases may take longer.
